The Together Partnership (TTP) is a charity founded by a group of Scottish businesspeople who were inspired by the remarkable rebuilding of the small African country of Rwanda. The role of TTP is to act as a catalyst for change for businesses both in Rwanda and Scotland. Our mandate is to provide linkages between businesses in the two countries. The range of key activities includes running learning journeys to Rwanda and building trading and other links between Rwandan and Scottish businesses. We are looking to appoint a Chief Executive inspired by our work. The appointment is an unusual one in that we are not offering a salary. The challenge may suit an early retired person or someone on a sabbatical or a career break. We need someone who will be passionate about helping the poorest to help themselves. The job involves delivering the strategy of TTP’s Board: both in creating life-changing trips and demonstrating the power of fair trade. A self-starter is required, someone who has had a leadership role, probably with profit and loss responsibility in the private, third or public sectors. We are looking for someone who can work with the Board to build a sustainable model for TTP, inspired by the opportunity to change the lives of thousands, not only in Africa but also Scotland. Strong interpersonal skills, proven collaborative abilities, and the capability to think and act strategically are key attributes for this role. If you are interested to explore this further, please write telling us why you would like to seize this unique opportunity. Letters should be addressed to: Alastair Bruce, Director, The Together Partnership, c/o Shaw Marketing and Design, Panmure Court, 32 Calton Road, Edinburgh EH8 8DP. A closing date for applications will be announced shortly.
